gomi Tag - Item Tracker - Frequently Asked Questions:

WE'VE GOT ANSWERS

How does the gomi tag work?

The gomi tag uses Bluetooth technology to connect to the Apple 'Find My' network. This allows you to track the location of your tag on your iPhone or iPad by using the Apple 'Find My' app.
You can use this app to trigger an alarm on the Tag to help find it when it is nearby.

Once the tag is paired with your Apple device, only you or people you share it with can see its location.

How long does the battery last, and how do I replace the battery?

The gomi tag has a battery life of up to one year. The modular design allows you to easily replace the battery, extending the life of your tracker.

The gomi tag uses one widely available CR 2032 cell battery

Replacing the battery on a gomi Item Tracker Tag
1. Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws on the back of the gomi tag.

2. Then using the screwdriver, or a toothpick, push the plastic disc out of the gomi tag, by pushing through the screw holes, to reveal the CR 2032 cell battery on the other side.

3. Take out the old battery, taking note of which way it was facing. Place the new battery, with the negative side facing the circuit board. This is usually the side of the battery without any writing on it.

4. Hold the plastic face of the tag tight against the metal and screw back together.

How do I connect to and set up my gomi Tag?

- Open the 'Find My' app on an iPhone, iPad or Mac.

- Go to 'Items'

- In the popup menu, go to 'Add other item', press and hold the button on the gomi tag for 3 seconds, it should make a single chime sound.

- 'Wireless Tag' will appear, press 'Connect'

- Give your tag a name and choose an emoji.

- Agree to add it to your Apple Account, so it then becomes owned by you.

Which safety features are in place when using location trackers?

All location trackers which use the Apple 'Find My' network are protected by the same safety conditions. Tags should are not designed to track the location of other people without their knowledge or consent. If a tag is close to another person's phone for a prolonged period, and the tag stays in close proximity even while they move around, that person's phone is likely to warn them that there is a location tracker regularly nearby.

If someone else wishes to carry your location tracker with them regularly, you can share that tag device with their Apple ID, to avoid them receiving repeated warnings.

Can I track my items if they are out of Bluetooth range?
