How does the gomi speaker compare in quality to other leading brands?

We have teamed up with world-renowned sound engineers to fine-tune our speakers. We are confident that our speakers sound just as good as the top tier speakers in the market, whilst having a truly unique design and being made from highly sustainable materials.

Why second-life batteries, and are they reliable?

We have done vigorous quality checking and testing to ensure that the batteries we use are absolutely reliable and work as well as a normal battery should.

We decided to use second-life batteries for many reasons, the main two being humanitarian and environmental reasons.

There are humanitarian and environmental issues around the materials used to make lithium-ion batteries. Especially around cobalt and lithium. After thorough research and testing, we found out that many modern mobility vehicles, such as e-bikes, have completely working batteries at the end of the life of the e-bike. They have to be put out of service due to issues with circuit boards or them coming to a fixed ‘3 year period’ where they have to replace a fleet according to contracts.

Through rigorous testing, we have been able to use these batteries and ensure they have a capacity comparible to brand-new cells, We are proud to say that we have been able to safely reuse and certify lithium cells from old mobility vehicles and incorporate them into all gomi products while passing the most vigorous lithium battery standards with flying colours.

We are proud to say that your gomi speaker is 100% powered by waste.

Where are the speakers made?

The speakers are made in our studio in Brighton, UK.

Should sound come from both of the holes in the front grill?

Each Collection One speaker has two circular holes in the front grill.

One is next to the speaker driver which makes the noise.
The other is for the bassport which does not make noise.

Will you be releasing any additonal colour designs?

Each collection of gomi speakers will be available in a new and unique selection of colours. This means that once the current collection is gone, they are gone.

However, we intend to continue with each collection for a number of months before releasing another.

Can you custom engrave the metal back plates?

This is not available at this time, but is something we are looking into and may be able to offer for future collections.

I already own a earlier verison of a gomi speaker. Can I pair it together with a Collection One speaker to play music in stereo?

As we have upgraded the Bluetooth module in our Collection One speakers, they are sadly not compatible to be paired with earlier versions of the gomi speaker.

It is our intention that all future gomi speaker collections will be stereo pairable with the Collection One speakers.

What payment methods are available?

The latest information is always shown in the checkout stages of making an order, but we accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.

Free shipping is available for all addresses in the United Kingdom, including

  • Northern Ireland
  • Scottish Highlands and Islands
  • Channel Islands
  • Isle of Man
  • Isles of Scilly

Free shipping is also available to the USA, Canada and some selected other European countries.

We do not offer shipping to other locations at this time, but submit your email in the section at the bottom of this page to be the first to know when we add new shipping areas to our store.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping usually takes 2-3 business days to UK addresses and up to 10 business days for international orders.

When new collections launch, we often have a periods of high demand where we are putting the finishing touches to our speakers as purchases are being made.

For early editions of new collections, the shipping time can sometimes take up to 10 business days.

The latest expectation on shipping duration will be shown during the checkout phase when making an order.

Subject to product availability, we always ship out our products in the order that the purchases were made, so the early purchases will always be sent out first.

We will keep you up to date on when your speaker has been shipped and you will be able to track the delivery and know when it is due to arrive.

The latest lead time information is always shown on the individual product information pages and confirmed during the checkout process.

Can I buy or collect a gomi speaker from your Brighton studio?

Collection from our studio in the heart of The Lanes in Brighton is usually possible.

Please contact us before you make an order to arrange a suitable time for collection.


I wish to send a gomi product as a gift to someone, what options do I have?

During the checkout phase of making a purchase, you are able to set a different shipping address and billing address.

However, all order confirmations, purchase receipts (including price information) and delivery notifications will go to the one email address that you provide.

If it is not suitable for these messages to go one email address, we recommend to send us a quick message before you purchase at support@gomi.design to make sure everything goes smoothly.

gomi will not include a printed receipt in with the package, so the price paid will not be shown to the recipient.

Order receipts and payment confirmations are managed via email confirmations only.

We do not currently offer gift wrapping or personalised notes to be added to the order. If this becomes available in the future, it will be made available during the checkout process.

If I already have a bluetooth speaker at home, what is the most environmentally friendly option: To buy a new Gomi speaker or stick with the one that I have?

The most environmentally friendly option is to keep the speaker that you have. The speaker that you own has already been produced, and it is always better to use what you have until the end of its life, until you buy a new product.

There is still an environmental impact of buying a gomi speaker, as there is with any new product.

Is the speaker made ethically?

Yes, we can guarantee that our workers in the UK are being paid above the Living Wage for the work they are doing. As for the workers who are providing the international components, we are doing further investigation to be able to give more solid facts about the working conditions and wages of these workers. However we can guarantee they are being paid at least the living wage for their country, as to not do so would be illegal.

It is important to us to know that workers are being treated ethically across the supply chains involved in making our products, so this is something we are committed to investigating more.

What is the carbon footprint of the gomi speaker?

9.06kg of CO2e, This is 50.4% less than our estimates of a market leading equivalent speaker of same category of size and weight.

Our speaker also needs less energy (-26%) and less water (-25%) to produce than our competitor's speaker.

How do your repairs work? Are they free?

Within the 2 year warranty, all repairs are free. Outside the warranty period of 2 years, we will repair the speaker at a fixed fee.

Whatever’s going wrong, you can arrange to send it into us to be resolved.

How can you replace or upgrade components on the gomi speaker?

Our modular design allows us to repair, replace, or upgrade any component that is causing issues with our products. We have good stocks of spare parts and will repair your speaker for free for the first 2 years and for a fixed fee afterwards.
